Civic Ballroom North

The landscape of paediatric rehabilitation and developmental services in Ontario is ever changing. As the needs of children and youth evolve over time, so must our approaches to evidence-informed care. Through this workshop, the Research and Innovation Teams at Grandview Kids and KidsAbility will showcase their approaches to collaborative research and integrating innovation, drawing key examples of success and challenges. The workshop facilitators will invite conference attendees to participate in an interactive exercise to identify common enablers and barriers to research innovation within and across Empowered Kids Ontario member organizations. Together, we will identify actionable strategies to strengthen enablers and overcome barriers.

3 Key Takeaways
1.  Improve the understanding of how research and innovation has been operationalized in children’s treatment centres across Ontario.
2.  Showcase the impact and outcomes of research and innovation on organization, staff, caregivers and clients.
3.  Establish new connections with EKO members to advance a provincial approach to research and innovation in paediatric rehabilitation.
