Over the past two decades, WHO’s International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) has informed and revolutionized how jurisdictions deliver holistic services. These policy changes aim to empower and engage children, youth and families using culturally sensitive and lifecourse approaches.
This poster presents a framework based on the ICF and its translation for popular use – the F-Words for Child Development – that allows for equitable access and tailored service provision based on the needs of children and their families. It includes recommended tools and measures, and helps to guide referral, intake, functional needs assessment, service delivery and evaluation at a systems level.
